About Hydrotherapy Access

Illawarra Rehabilitation Clinic is proud to offer one of the most accessible hydrotherapy facilities in the Illawarra. Our purpose-built hydrotherapy pool in Warilla is equipped with a state-of-the-art ceiling hoist system, allowing safe, comfortable and dignified transfers into and out of the water for people with limited mobility. This makes hydrotherapy accessible for patients with physical disabilities, neurological conditions, spinal injuries, stroke, arthritis and post-surgical rehabilitation needs. We also provide wheelchair access, an in-clinic commode and personalised assistance from our experienced team. Unlike many rehabilitation facilities, our advanced ceiling hoist enables clients who may otherwise be unable to access a pool environment to safely participate in hydrotherapy and rehabilitation. Patients from Warilla, Shellharbour, Wollongong and the wider Illawarra travel to our clinic to access these specialised facilities and services.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Hydrotherapy Access FAQs

What does Hydrotherapy Access involve?

Hydrotherapy Access allows you to use our heated indoor hydrotherapy pool independently or as part of your ongoing rehabilitation program. The warm water environment helps reduce stress on joints, improve mobility, build strength, and make exercise more comfortable for people managing pain, injury, arthritis, or post-surgical recovery.

At Illawarra Rehabilitation Clinic in Warilla, our Hydrotherapy Access program gives patients throughout Shellharbour and the Illawarra the opportunity to continue exercising in a purpose-built rehabilitation environment.

Who is our pool suitable for?

Hydrotherapy Access is ideal for people recovering from injury or surgery, managing arthritis, back pain, joint pain, neurological conditions, or chronic pain. It is also suitable for individuals who require graded pool stairs, wheelchair access, or a ceiling hoist to safely enter and exit the pool.

At Illawarra Rehabilitation Clinic in Warilla, our heated hydrotherapy pool is designed to accommodate wheelchair users and patients weighing up to 150kg. With accessible entry options and specialised equipment, we provide hydrotherapy for people who may find it difficult to access traditional swimming pools or exercise facilities. Our Hydrotherapy Access program supports NDIS participants, Workers Compensation clients, post-operative rehabilitation patients, and anyone seeking a safe, low-impact rehabilitation environment in the Illawarra.

What makes your hydrotherapy pool different?

Illawarra Rehabilitation Clinic offers one of the most accessible hydrotherapy facilities in the Illawarra. Our purpose-built heated hydrotherapy pool features multi-level entry options, graded access stairs, wheelchair access, an in-clinic commode, and a ceiling hoist system to help patients safely enter and exit the pool.

Unlike many hydrotherapy pools in the Illawarra, our facility has been specifically designed to accommodate people with limited mobility, neurological conditions, spinal injuries, arthritis, disability, and post-surgical rehabilitation needs. We support wheelchair users and patients who require additional assistance to access the water safely.

Our goal is to make hydrotherapy accessible to as many people as possible, providing a safe and supportive rehabilitation environment for patients throughout Warilla, Shellharbour, Wollongong, and the Illawarra who may not be able to access traditional swimming pools or exercise facilities
